Values

Understanding the core values of your therapist is incredibly important. It deeply informs the way that we show up in the space, and influences the style of support you are given. Transparency around our values is also part of the informed consent process.

Safety. Authenticity. Autonomy. Connection. Collaboration. BalanceOpenness. Flexibility. Advocacy. Inclusivity. Non-judgment. Empathy.

I feel immense gratitude for the relationships I get to build with clients. For the opportunity to normalize, validate, and affirm the chaotic mess and simultaneous beauty of being human. And for the chance to grow from each and every person that I meet in this journey.

Therapeutic Approach

My work with clients is trauma-informed and utilizes a variety of therapeutic modalities. Included Person Centered, Strengths based, Narrative, IFS, and Somatic work.

My therapeutic style is relaxed, casual, and very human centered. It involves creating an environment where clients are (and feel) truly seen, heard, honored, and valued. Where judgements are not made, and all parts of a person are invited into the space. I do not pretend to be a “knower-of-all-things” who has the answers to all life’s questions tucked neatly in my back pocket. Instead, I operate from a place of genuine curiosity, care, and authenticity. You are the expert of your life, and I am here to walk alongside you. Providing you with tools, support, and a safe place to explore. Together, we will work to identify current barriers in your life. Expand on your strengths. Increase self-awareness. Gain new perspectives. Challenge old beliefs. And address unhelpful patterns.

What to Expect

This work can be incredibly challenging at times, but it can also create opportunity for deep healing and rebuilding.

Initial sessions will involve learning about you, your struggles, and your goals for therapy. I will invite you into discussions to better understand your relationship with self, and others, work with you to identify and explore patterns that may be contributing to your struggles, and discuss what type of support would be most beneficial to you. Together we will use this information to create a plan for addressing your needs and working toward your goals.

I will also ask about you personal preferences around how the session flows. Would you rather have more structured sessions? Where you come in with an agenda that we follow? Or do you prefer more "go with the flow" style? Maybe you are somewhere in between. How about in terms of how you might like to recieve feedback from me? Some people are looking for firm and direct. While others are in need of more gentleness and checking in before jumping into it. I am open and adaptible to whatever works best for you and for our work together.

As we continue on in the work, sessions often become less guided by me, and more led based on what you are most in need of at that moment. As the sense of safety, comfort, and trust builds; people often feel able to relax into the process with less structure. Allowing more freedom and flexibility. You are not "locked in" to having to work on something that doesn't feel as relevant that day. The treatment plan that we create together, is an individualized guide for our work together. But it is also ever evolving. This is YOUR therapy. And the focus of the work can be changed at any time. Based on what you need.
